Democrats are out for blood.
Their latest target is Attorney General William Barr.
And one top House Democrat just declared war on Barr with this shocking move.
Democrats won’t let go of the Russian collusion conspiracy theory they have perpetuated for the past two years.
Even after Special Counsel Robert Mueller concluded that the Trump campaign engaged in no collusion with the Russian government in the 2016 elections, Democrats refuse to accept reality.
They’ve put too much into the narrative that Trump illegally won the election against Hillary Clinton for them to give up that easily.
Instead, Democrats are now seeking to destroy Trump by indirectly attacking him.
If calling for impeachment or even demanding his arrest won’t remove Trump from office, tearing down his administration by targeting his closest advisers will.
And that’s why Nancy Pelosi’s closest allies in the House of Representatives are now targeting Attorney General William Barr.
The Daily Mail reports, “President Donald Trump on Wednesday claimed executive privilege over the full, unredacted version of special counsel Robert Mueller’s report as House Democrats voted to move forward and find Attorney General Bill Barr in contempt of Congress for refusing to hand it over.”
Trump isn’t letting Democrats walk all over him however. He’s punching back just as hard.
And that’s why he was elected to the office of President in 2016 in the first place. People shouldn’t be surprised to see him fighting the latest Democratic plot to destroy his presidency.
Democrats crossed a red line when they threatened Trump and William Barr.
And Trump fired back by invoking executive privilege to keep the full Mueller report from falling into Democratic hands.
Nancy Pelosi’s party is determined to play dirty in Congress, but what they don’t realize is that Trump has far more cards up his sleeve than they do.
So, House Democrats are now attacking Barr instead, voting to hold him in contempt of Congress.
And the move was led by House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler, who made it clear that Barr is now public enemy number one in the eyes of House Democrats.
“The vote to proceed to contempt charges, held in the House Judiciary Committee was along partisan lines – 22 Democrats versus 12 Republicans – and came after Barr declined to appear before the panel at a hearing last week,” adds the Daily Mail.
“The contempt citation will face one more final committee vote, where it’s expected to pass. And then it will go before the full House chamber for a vote, where Democrats hold a 38-seat majority.”
The White House wasted no time in unloading on Chairman Nadler for his actions however.
“Faced with Chairman Nadler’s blatant abuse of power, and at the Attorney General’s request, the President has no other option than to make a protective assertion of executive privilege,” White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said in a statement that was published as the vote to hold Barr in contempt of Congress was happening.
The battle lines have now been drawn, and it’s only a matter of time until things escalate even more.
