Robert Mueller’s near laser-focused mission to destroy President Trump could soon come crashing down.
The Special Counsel, who is supposed to be looking into Russian interference in the 2016 election, has instead chosen to redirect his job into a partisan witch hunt directed at the President of the United States.
But Mueller’s work may never even see the light of day if this scandal plays out.
Mueller’s case against the President has been covered in one scandal after another.
And the recent explosive revelations from fired FBI agent Peter Strzok could be Mueller’s undoing.
Strzok, who used to work for Mueller as part of his investigation, was let go after texts between him and another FBI agent were revealed whereby Strzok endlessly mocked and derided President Trump and his supporters.
The bias was so obvious that Mueller was forced to remove Strzok from the case.
But Strzok’s former lover Lisa Page, another fired FBI agent, has told Congressional investigators that Strzok was looking forward to the Mueller investigation as a way to not only remove Trump from office, but also to advance his own career.
The Washington Times reports, “Ms. Page also said decisions to allow former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s top aides to sit in on her FBI interview in 2016, and not to pursue gross negligence charges against her for her secret emails, were made by the Justice Department. She identified two lawyers at the department who she said made that decision.”
There are no words to describe the level of malpractice that took place here.
Not only were individuals working on the Mueller case looking to take down President Trump right from the start, but the Justice Department under Barack Obama directed the FBI to not pursue any criminal charges against Hillary Clinton or her staff for her secret email server.
This is a scandal of near-Watergate proportions.
“Transcripts from two interviews that the House conducted with Ms. Page were released by Rep. Doug Collins, the top Republican on the Judiciary Committee,” adds the Washington Times.
“The American people deserve to know what transpired in the highest echelons of the FBI during that tumultuous time for the bureau,” Mr. Collins said Tuesday.
The Mueller investigation from the beginning was centered around destroying Trump, even before he took office.
“Maybe you’re meant to stay where you are because you’re meant to protect the country from that menace,” said Page in a text to Strzok.
The “menace” she was referring to was Donald Trump.
What’s more, Page explained that she and her colleagues were more interested in going after Trump than they ever were in going after Hillary Clinton.
“The Clinton investigation was whether she mishandled classified information. That’s important. It matters, but it does not matter like a person associated with a presidential campaign receiving and potentially accepting, which we didn’t know, obviously, but the risk that somebody had received and accepted an offer of assistance from Russia, which I view as our sort of most treacherous adversary,” Page said.
The scandal breaks as Robert Mueller is preparing to wrap up his investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 elections, which Democrats hope will bring about President Trump’s downfall.
Do you think the FBI failed to do its job? Should the Mueller investigation continue?
