A White House unit, which is responsible for overseeing the national response to the deadly Asian virus, should be dissolved, a Republican congressman from Arizona said.
Andy Biggs has urged the Trump administration to consider shutting down the Coronavirus Task Force to prevent its members from spreading misinformation about the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus pandemic.
The chair of the conservative House freedom caucus accused task force members of unnecessarily worrying Americans by repeatedly spreading information different to what President Donald Trump said.
“Dr. Anthony Fauci and Dr. Deborah Birx continue to contradict many of President Trump’s stated goals and actions for returning to normalcy as we know more about the COVID-19 outbreak,” he said. “This is causing panic that compromises our economic recovery.”
He believes Fauci, Birx, and the rest of the task force has to be stopped.
“As our economy is restored, it is imperative that President Trump is not undermined in his mission to return our economy to greatness,” he said. “It is time for the COVID-19 task force to be disbanded so that President Trump’s message is not mitigated or distorted.”
Biggs’s office revealed easing government restrictions is helping the economy recover, with the unemployment rate falling more rapidly than predicted.
“The U.S. Department of Labor released its Employment Situation Summary for the month of June, showing that 4.8 million jobs were added last month and the unemployment rate fell to 11.1 percent,” the statement said. “Economists had predicted only 2.9 million new jobs and an unemployment rate of 12.4 percent.”
The congressman is convinced that if the task force did not interfere, the nation would continue to recover and bring back an economic boom.
“After two months of economic nightmares due to COVID-19 and our states’ reactions to the outbreak, the American economy is roaring back as we predicted,” he said. “The fundamentals of our economy were very strong prior to the COVID-19 outbreak, and the pro-growth foundation that President Trump set over the past 3 plus years is paying dividends in one of our nation’s most uncertain times.”
He maintains the national economy does not necessarily have to be sacrificed in order to effectively contain the CCP Virus.
“We can protect our most vulnerable from the COVID-19 outbreak while still protecting lives and livelihoods of the rest of the population,” he said. “Americans trust President Trump and his team to lead our economy back to prosperity because of his track record.”
