Nikki Haley says US should investigate ‘to the core’ the situation of Joe Biden and his son in Ukraine

Nikky Haley, a former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, referred to the issue of the impeachment being carried out against President Donald Trump, saying that Democrats should let people know the facts about the business being done by former Democrat Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter in Ukraine.

During an interview with host Sean Hannity, Haley argued that President Trump was not involved in a ‘quid pro quo’ with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy to initiate an investigation against the Biden in exchange for Washington providing financial aid to Ukraine.

“In practice, I don’t think it’s good for us to ask foreign governments to investigate Americans, but I think it’s due to the fact that Americans should be investigating Americans,” she said in an interview with Fox News.

“And, Americans should be asking Joe Biden and his son the questions, and finding out exactly what was going on with that situation and getting to the bottom of it,” Haley added.

She recalled that President Trump released foreign aid without Zelenskiy having initiated an investigation against Joe and Hunter Biden. “If you look at the transcript [of the call], it’s very clear that the president was not demanding that this be done,” Haley said, referring to the conversation between the two presidents that led to the accusations against President Trump.

During the interview, Haley also criticized a series of polls and investigations against the Trump administration, which she described as unilateral. “I would like them to come back and say what was President Obama’s role in the (Russian) situation,” she added.

“In this situation, what was Joe Biden’s role and what was Hunter Biden’s role in that process? (…) There are many questions that need to be asked.”

In another interview, Haley also urged Democrats to let voters decide the president’s future rather than seek impeachment, noting that the American people would prefer to see legislation dealing with “more pressing issues such as trade, illegal immigration, and the federal budget.”

Regarding the impeachment of the president, she said, “The bottom line is that I think this is a distraction from what really matters to the American people,” according to Fox News.

She also said the July 25 phone call between the two presidents is just a regular conversation between two presidents, and she agreed that Trump should be dissatisfied with the whole process against him, given the way Congress has treated him.

Haley said, “He’s been in one investigation after another, but the other side hasn’t been investigated, and I think that irritates him a little.”
